Venue hire and hall bookings

North Petherton Community Centre is suitable for a wide range of uses and can be hired for both single events such as dances, wedding receptions, conferences and sales, or block-booked for regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly events. Subject to availability, the Main Hall, Small Hall, Bar / Committee Room and the Main Kitchen are all available separately, but can also be booked together in any available combination. All users have access to the foyer and toilets in their wing, while users of the Small Hall also have the option to use the Small Hall Kitchen – for full details visit our facilities page. The Main Hall is now also equipped with a digital projector and screen which together with the sound system, is ideal for conferences and presentations.  There will be an additional hire charge for these items.

Our hire charges are set out below.

Single bookings

Single bookings are normally accepted for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with the day and the evening available separately. It may be possible to accommodate single bookings on other days too, subject to availability, so please ask if you see a gap in our regular events.

Block bookings

Block bookings are accepted from Mondays to Thursdays inclusive, for any part of a 12 month period, renewable in the 9th month. Subject to the availability of the hall, block bookings may also be made on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays on a month-to-month basis. Users with regular block bookings are entitled to request a place on our Management Committee.

All bookings

All booking requests must be made in writing on the official booking form and require written confirmation by our Bookings Secretary. All bookings are subject to our standard terms and conditions and the payment of the booking fees and deposit.

Hire charges

We endevour to to keep our prices as low as possible for the use of our community. After maintaining prices the same since July 2016 and after careful consideration we are introducing the following revised and simplified charges from 1st April 2018. The minimum booking period is 2 hours.

Beyond the cost of hiring the Committee Room, which contains the bar, there is no additional charge for opening the bar. It is, however, essential that you notify us if you wish the bar to be opened. Other than drinks purchased at the bar, it is not permitted to bring alcoholic drinks into the building, except for champagne served at wedding receptions, to which a corkage fee applies.

Cutlery, crockery and tablecloths

Regular cutlery and crockery is available for general use in the kitchens, however there is a charge of the hire of banqueting cutlery and crockery and for hire and laundering of tablecloths. If these are required, this must be requested on the booking form. The hire charges are currently:

  • Banqueting cutlery & crockery: £0.25 per setting
  • Table cloths (made especially to suit our circular tables): £50.00 per bag of 10

Refundable deposit

In addition to the booking charges, in the case of single bookings a damage deposit is required, refundable in full provided the premises are left in good condition. This is currently: £50.00
